WHAT TO EXPECT
When you consider attending our Worship service for the first time we want you to know "what to expect".
We want to be honest and upfront with you because as a visitor you are important to us.
So here is what you need to know.
You will be warmly welcomed, as we are a very friendly and cheerful church family. You will not be pressured. You determine your own level of involvement, and you will decide if you wish to return.
The Sunday Service is our weekly opportunity for the congregation to worship God together. When you arrive, you will be welcomed and given a hymnal and bulletin for the Sundays service. You can be seated wherever you wish.
We have a traditional but not overly formal worship service. Our music is primarily traditional. The piano is our main musical instrument. Pastor Doug plays the piano. Our Lay Minister, Mark Miller, assist with the flow of the service so the pastor can move to the piano with ease.
The service will include Scripture, singing, prayer, special music, greeting our church family, pastor's message, announcements and our offering. (As a visitor - your being in the service is your offering!)
Communion is normally part of the service on the first Sunday of the month. All Christians are welcome to receive communion but there is no pressure to participate.
At some point, someone will give you a small visitor's bag. You will decide if you wish to fill out the visitor's card. If you do, we again promise you will not be pressured. We want you to feel welcome, but you decide.
After each service we enjoy a time of fellowship and refreshments in our fellowship hall. We will make you feel right at home. On the last Sunday of the month those who wish gather at a different restaurant each month. We enjoy being together and like most folks we like eating.
What we do not have: We do not have a children's ministry, youth ministry or a Sunday School. Currently we are primarily a congregation of senior adults. Dress is neat but casual.
